Welcome to Neverstill Great Danes. Thank you for visiting our site. We are not a kennel or mass breeder, just a family that loves Great Danes. Our Great Danes are part of our family. They live in our house and sleep in our bed (thank goodness for the king-size bed). Great Danes are truly an unique breed. Not only are they big in size, but also big in personality. Each one is different. Each on is unique.
After we purchased our first Great Dane, Daisy, I knew instantly that I wanted to have more (kinda of like a potato chip). Soon after, we added our second Great Dane, Mia...and then our third, Lulu...Taz and then Bella. We are now the proud owner of four massive Great Danes.
Just so you know, Neverstill is a very small community near Birkenfeld, Oregon. This is where my grandparents and mom were born and raised. One afternoon on the way to my grandma's house, I saw the street sign "Neverstill", which absolutely described my home with three kids and three Great Danes (at that time). Neverstill is rich of history and tradition.
Many, many, many years ago the small community of Neverstill had a two stall engine and machine shop and facilities. Neverstill served as a repair facilities for both cars and engines (trains) for many years. It operated both day and night and served logging railroads, one of which was the famous Kerry Line. The name "Neverstill" came from Kerry himself after he noticed how the railroad facilities were always bustling and "never still". A post office and a two story hospital, complete with both doctors and nurses, were built there.
The shops at Neverstill survived for many years, and were used for storage by it's last owners, E.T. "Boone" Johnston and my grandfather, Howard G. Jones. However, by the 1960s the buildings had fallen into serious disrepair. By the 1970s, it was largely abandoned and finally succumbed in the winter of 1983.
Not much is left of Neverstill today, except for a couple of farm houses, but from 1916 through the mid to late1930s it was the main repair facility for the Kerry and later K-P Timber Companies.
The history and name of the old bustling Neverstill, with its rich history and great trains, seemed a fitting name.
